CFR Racer Don Skyberg Passes
Donald was born on Dec. 5, 1943, in Sioux Falls, S.D., the son of Oliver and Julia (Jensen) Skyberg. He graduated from Luverne High School in Luverne, Minn. Donald served his country in the U.S. Army. He was united in marriage to Patricia Fredricks on July 24, 1965, in Luverne, Minn.. Donald was formerly employed by the Tama Pack as a maintenance engineer. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Tama where he was on the board of trustees, church council, gospel group, and was a confirmation instructor. Donald was also a member of the National Hotrod Association. He enjoyed bowling, pistol target practice, drawing, and snowmobiling. Donald was a “purebred” Pontiac racer and loved drag racing his Pontiac Firebirds. Preceding him in death were his parents; a daughter, Georgia Hagedorn in 2009; a granddaughter, Taylor Skala; a twin sister, Delores Walters; and a brother, Robert Skyberg. Survivors include his wife Patricia Skyberg , Malcom; children, Gene (Vickie) Skyberg, Tama and Judy Skyberg-Skala, Toledo; son-in-law, Dan Hagedorn, Malcom; 19 grandchildren, Matthew and Michael Skyberg, Ames, Morgan, Mitchell, and Megan Skyberg, Tama, Dennis (Jacque) Hagedorn,Kirksville, Mo., Clinton Hagedorn, Ames, Mackenzie and Clark Skala, Toledo, and Josie Davenport, Toledo; one great granddaughter Addysyn Skyberg, Marshalltown; his siblings, Eunice (Donald) Wynn, Mounds View, Minn., Edith (Clarence) Else, Alexandria, Minn., David (Beverly) Skyberg, Fargo, N.D., James Skyberg, Dell Rapids, S.D., Steven (Deborah) Skyberg, Dilworth, Minn.,, Dale Skyberg, Casper, Wyo., Donna (John) O’Donnell, Ellsworth, Minn., Janice Otterso, LeMars, Greg (Deborah) Skyberg, Kona-Kailua, Hawaii, and Kent (Jennifer) Skyberg, Sioux Falls, S.d.; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
