COMPLIMENTARY TICKETS NOW AVAILABLE ON-LINE FOR OUTLAW SUMMER STREET DRAGS, SAT. JUNE 19

DELAVAN, WI (April 27, 2010) - Many of the cars that participate in the True Street Drag Racing series are similar to what you’d see on the road during a casual weekend drive.  However, at the Cedar Falls Raceway on Saturday, June 19 you will see these cars going 170 mph and as quick as 8 seconds down the quarter-mile track.  Then add in the professional drag car classes which spout big tires and very large motors running 200+ mph as quick as 6-7 seconds.  Now, let’s add in the excited of motorcycle drag motorcycle who can go as fast as 195 mph in 7 seconds.
The True Street Drag Racing series brings its door-slammer attitude to Cedar Falls Raceway on Saturday, June 19, 2010. The heads-up racing series — both cars leave the line at the same time — offers nine drag car classes and three drag motorcycle classes that run distances of either 1/8 mile or 1/4 mile.

“The best part of our series is that some of the classes you can drive your car or motorcycle to the track and race it.  Our experienced racers are always ready and available to assist any new drivers. This is a great way to get involved in the sport of drag racing.” said TSDR owner and promoter Becky Wardlow. “We are very excited about our partnership with Cedar Falls Raceway that allows us to provide complimentary admission to any and all spectators that get a advanced ticket. This is the chance to bring your friends and family out to experience the largest quarter-mile drag racing series in the Midwest".

Wardlow, a Illinois native, said she came into racing because she had two options stay home and be mad that the husband was at the track every weekend or join him.  After attending many racers, she saw the need to create a heads-up drag series in the region and started True Street Drag Racing in 2008.

“I try to keep it the event very family oriented,” said Wardlow, whose operation is based out of Delavan, WI. “We have a class that fits everyone, from the beginning drag racer to the pro in both the drag car and drag motorcycle categories.  Our goal is to promote the sport of drag racing by education and providing the general public on this great family sport.  Drag racing belongs on the track and not on the street.”

Complimentary tickets will be available at area businesses very soon or you can get your ticket now by clicking here.
