A VERY GOOD OPENING EVENT & PLANS SET FOR FIRST MBA RACE THIS WEEKEND

Opening weekend at Cedar Falls Raceway went very well as more than 100 cars, bikes and sleds participated in the Saturday Test-n-Tune with nearly 75 on Sunday. In addition NHRA was busy doing certifications throughout the day on Sunday. "We are pretty pleased with the progress we have made with the facility" said Scott Gardner. "Dumpster Dan (General Manager) and his staff were anxious to learn and do a good job for the racers and spectators" he continued.

Cedar Falls Raceway now under new ownership and management is in the process of making both physical and operational changes to the raceway. Physical changes include updating the food concession building and bathrooms as well as fixing the lighting on the race surface as well as the Public Address system are in progress. "We hope to make steady progress throughout the season with the facility" said Driscoll.

This weekend (Sat & Sun, April 28-29) is the first MBA Series event as well as a CFR points race plus Heartland Stock and Super Stock Association (Sat). "We know this will be a very busy weekend for the facility and a bigger test for us" mentioned Driscoll. "Therefore, we will bring more experienced staff members from CDP and ERP to help out."

Gates open at 11:30 AM on Saturday with time runs underway at 1 PM and eliminations expected to start no later than 5 PM. Then on Sunday, gates re-open at 9 AM with trials at 10 AM with eliminations to follow. Classes to be conducted include; Super Pro, Pro, Sportsman, Trophy Street,  Bike/Sled, Trophy and Jr Dragster. (Heartland Stock & Super Stock will be raced on Saturday)  In addition, test-n-tune is always available but will be limited on Points Bracket days.
